Hello,
My friend chucked this old iBook at me for me to restore. I have a couple old Panther ISOs sitting around, but do i need to go through the trouble of burning them? Is there some way I can just remove all user files and programs, and restore system files back to normal?
I have the option of burning, but I don’t want to waste a couple CDs for nothing.
dunno
To “restore” the computer to its original state with preinstalled programs requires the software restore discs that came with the computer. Otherwise, just using the Panther discs, only the programs that come with the OS will be installed. If you don’t reinstall the OS and programs, you will be able to create new accounts, but the original “owner” account can not be removed.
If you don’t care about preinstalled programs, you should just reinstall the OS. Panther is unsupported, so if the computer has FireWire ports, Tiger or later should be installed.
